After 4 years as an invaluable part of the MICC lab, our fantastic colleague Liisa Raud successfully defended her thesis, "Partitioning response inhibition by its latency, extent, and electrophysiological correlates", for the PhD degree last week!

The main focus of Liisas work in the MICC lab has been to test different partitioning schemes for response inhibition. Through this work, she has shown that response inhibition is fast and that it might be an intrinsic property of a motor control system, thus challenging the notion of a central inhibition mechanism that generalizes to other domains. While the actual thesis is great read, you can also find a short press release summarizing the main findings here (english/norwegian).

We wish her the very best of luck with her new postdoc position, and we look forward to seeing the great research we know she will produce in the years to come!
